“The aroma is amazing – very citrussy and floral. Very excited to taste this. Aniseed, heat, citrus, grapefruit, floral flavours – would be great on fish or a ceviche. Leaves a warm clean finish in the mouth. Was tasted on its own, but suspect if served on warm or hot food the flavours would develop and blend even more.”

“Heat builds steadily to a pleasing tingle, which lingers. This remains for a while, and seems to push out other higher notes that might offer floral or fruit relief. Tropical fruitiness is apparent and has a pleasing intensity. Fresh and bright astringency.”

“We tried these black peppercorns first as a ground-pepper product, which had a subtle sharpness at the end but lost some of their volatile esters once we compared them to the whole black peppers. When trying them whole there was a lot more complexity, with dark berry fruitiness underpinning the flavour and hits of fennel and very gentle but focused, non-aggressive heat. This is definitely a peppercorn to be sold whole, and ground fresh for maximum effect. They were good-sized berries.”
